Gelato, pasta, wine and a city full of history! Rome was the best trip for my soul, it has left me completely speechless. I honestly have to break up the Rome posts into parts because in such a short time I did a lot! 

This was the first trip it was just me and I’ll be honest writing this post is a little bittersweet. It was the end of what kind of turned out to be my “eat, pray, love” trip and so the emotions run deep on this. No there is no new love, let’s just get that out of the way early! 

When I was asked to go to Greece for Alyssa’s photos I actually had to fly to Rome because it was a heck of a lot cheaper than to Santorini and then the flights from Rome to Santorini were crazy cheap. Needless to say I added a few days to myself in Rome, not everything went as planned but that’s what travel is all about. 

As soon as I landed in Rome and got my luggage I was off to catch the train into the city! I had planned out to take a bus from the train station in Rome to get to my hotel however it was busy and that sun was setting, I am not one to miss out on a good sunset, so I took a cab instead. My hotel was located in such a great spot, I was within 10-20 minutes walking distance from anything I wanted to see. I will put the link at the end of this post.

The first thing on my itinerary was a handmade pasta making class that I had booked through Airbnb (you can book the exact one here). This was the first thing I thought about doing when I booked my trip and I am so glad I did! There is nothing better than an experience that you can actually bring home and keep reliving! We made spinach ravioli, fettuccini with an amatriciana sauce and a carbonara. I highly recommend an experience like this anywhere you travel! I cannot wait to return next year and do a pizza and gelato one…. If only I could live at a vineyard now for a few months and learn about wine making lol!

Rome is definitely a city that you can just roam around (lol sorry had to). My first morning I was up at 5am ready to take on this incredible city. I started by a walk up to Trevi fountain since I knew come later on it would be packed with hundreds of people.
