As I venture into the wedding planning for our wedding along with being in the industry for 13 years now, I know the importance of reducing wedding stress. So here I am creating content to try to help you through this process, even if we aren't a great fit for eachother I'm happy for you and excited to help in any way I can.
Ok so the cat is out of the bag (don’t worry it wasn’t me to do it first!). Bradley and Nadine had originally been planning to do their legal ceremony the day before their wedding as they have a close friend who is going to be up there with them on their special day so the first plan was to get married at City Hall in Edmonton the day before their wedding however…. apparently they don’t do weddings there! So Nadine asked if since we had already planned the engagement session in Drumheller if we could possibly do an elopement there which was an idea I could never say no to!
We met at the JPs’ house where paperwork was completed with Tess (my second shooter) and myself being the witnesses. Nadine surprised Bradley by wearing her mom’s wedding dress from the 80s… this gown was GORGEOUS and in such amazing condition! So special that she got to wear it and to make it even better she had her florist, Laurel’s on Whyte, recreate her mom’s bouquet as well!!!
So off I went to find the perfect secluded and scenic spot and my goodness was it perfect! Just a short drive outside of Drumheller which was nice! We set up the table with an incredible cake from Duchess Bake Shop, champagne and a spot to sign the documents then it was time to have Nadine go get that dress on! The anticipation of that moment when Nadine was walking towards Bradley gave us goosebumps watching! It was an intimate ceremony with the sweetest JP ever. It was a little weird having to take my turn to sign the documents as I’m usually photographing that part but such an incredible honor it was!
Ok I cannot recall what the funny thing said here was it all goes by so quickly but I love little moments like this!
Afterwards we popped champagne and ate some of the most delicious cake I have ever had… no napkins required it was finger licking good (ha did I just type that… I sure did!). We took some photos in this gorgeous spot we had all to ourselves and decided to carry on and head over to more locations for the rest of the photos! I am looking forward to capturing their celebration in the city with all their friends and family next month!
Let’s just take a minute to drool over these rings too! I mean I’m a sucker for rose gold anything so when I saw these my jaw dropped!!!!!
That saying that rain on your wedding day is good luck… yes it sure is! It didn’t last long but just enough to some gorgeous photos in it!
It was an incredible day filled with lots of laughter! So thankful they were patient and adventurous enough to just wing it and go with the flow… for real we didn’t even pick out the wedding ceremony location until the paperwork was being filled out!
Be sure to follow me on facebook and instagram to see more of my adventures. So many fun amazing weddings to come this year!
Special thank you to Tess from Tess Lucas Photography for coming along and second shooting this with me as well for all the behind the scene photos (those to come in another blog post).
